TextEditor : Rich Text Editor App Reviews

Alas Pretty Useless

Really nice concept. However itdoesnt process CR/LFs properly. So Docs that look great on Google come out completely trashed: 1. Lines of text dont break properly so words graphs are broken up in strange chunks. 2. No white space between graphs means you cant tell where one ends and the next begins. Basically anything more than a few sentences is unreadable. Its just about as east to simply email Docs to yourself and the formatting comes out intact and clean

Waste of money

Total garbage

junk

Its a broken app - dont bother unless you just want to create a file and edit it. You cant connect to sync files with your pc or with google docs.

Not useful

A text editor should save files that can be found in the file system, copied, moved, transferred, etc. A text editor should be able to open text files. Its not clear how one can do any of these tasks with this app.

No good

Definitely has problems; while I could preview a document in Google Docs, I could never download it. The app crashes every time I try to connect for the download. Thankfully its only 99 cents.

Nice

This works like a charm. Got it because one cant edit in Notes app but find it much more than an editor. I wish I could return to HOME without SAVE then quit app then restarting app.

very basic -too basic

what size, how many bytes, what date is my file. how to insert date and time with one button? how return to directory view? only by discarding? do I realy have to copy and paste first line to have it as title? how to enlarge the text- cannot even read my own text easily.

CRAP!!!!

Unable to connect to gmail account. Dont buy

Crap

I read a review online and it said this was a good app. I want my $$ back. I could not open my gmail account because of a SSL error.

Poor

App does not multitask well. If you have to leave the app, it restarts. Hopefully you remembered to save, or you dont get a phone call while you are writing, because autosave is unreliable.

Just what I needed

I use Pages for complex documents but sometimes you just need to write things down in a simple format before you do things with it. So I tried this app and it does exactly what I needed. Better than putting temporary text into Notes.

Excellent App!

Im a writer who uses a ZAGG keyboard with my iPad. Hanx Writer is fantastic! It reminds me of times past with my first typewriter. It opens in all of the word processing apps as well as email, journals, etc. Five (5) stars isnt really enough. Wish there were more.

Basic but Reliable and Simple

Because I have different generations of Apple devices I have a hard time finding apps that will run on my old Mac mini, iPad Air and ancient MacBook interchangeably. But this app does it reliably and seamlessly. I an start writing on my Mini and send the file to myself to finish on the iPad (not all my devices have Cloud access). What a blessing!

Love the app

App is the best!!!

Great application

Syncs with iCloud, perfect fore use on iPhone.

Move Along to Better Options

Crashes in iOS 9.1 ... Buggy as hell, crashed before I could complete anything. There are much better free options available. Even if it works for you, the options are pretty limited.

Basic editor with plain text or RTF

Ok. Basic. Dont forget to save or you lose. Nags fir reviews, therefore 3 ✰✰★★★ star app.

Easy to read text without .txt extension

I was looking for a way to read files that are text but use a different extension than txt, such as .java, .pde, and .bash files. This program does the trick: 1. copy your attachment from email to it, 2. change the extension to .txt I have used Dropbox to do the same thing, but I dont always want my attachments to go to the cloud. This program lets me keep my files local.

Just crashes

As I try to operate on a file text or pdf on google drive the app crashes. Removed.

Good app
